But it's true, chocolates contains flavonoids which can reduce high blood pressure. Flavonoids can result in dilatation of blood vessels and thus lower the pressure of blood circulating in them. Sunflower seeds: Sunflower seeds contain folic acid, vitamin E, fiber and proteins. All these nutrients are beneficial in keeping your heart healthy. So, add a handful of sunflower seeds in your food and be hypertension protected. Whole Grain: A healthy breakfast is essential for a great day. Include whole grains like heart-healthy oats in your daily breakfast, and keep your heart protected against high blood pressure. Spinach: The leafy spinach is packed with some very useful heart-friendly nutrients such as magnesium-capable of keeping blood pressure under control. It is rich in fiber and low in calories so add a lot of spinach in your daily diet. Sweet Potatoes: Potassium is present in high quantities in sweet potatoes it is helpful in controlling the levels of blood sodium. With sodium levels under control blood pressure levels automatically come within normal limit. Grape Juice: Polyphenols found in grape juice is capable of reducing blood pressure. The polyphenols enhance the nitric oxide production which lowers the viscosity of blood and brings rising blood pressure under control. So, drink a lot of grape juice!
